Defense Talent Network - Electrical Engineer - EW Analyst

 
Among the responsibilities of this position will include attending program meetings as required and maintaining liaisons with individual JCTD program management teams, conducting program personnel interviews as required, documenting results for incorporation into overall program vulnerability analyses, and assisting in writing overall program vulnerability analyses reports. This position will be a key contributor to briefs and briefing materials, trip reports, and other information required to manage and coordinate completion of JCTD vulnerability analyses as well as assisting in briefings and roundtable discussions of Information Operations (IO) as required. Candidate will also contribute to demonstrating exploitable EW vulnerabilities a potential third world adversary may employ with the use of open source, commercial-off-the-shelf equipment, techniques, and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and a resident of the San Antonio area (or willing to relocate). Candidate must possess a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field and 5+ years of experience. Candidate must possess at least Top Secret clearance and be eligible for SCI.
Candidates with experience performing EW analysis on weapon systems will be preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsibilities will include overall electric motor design and product development.

Experience with aerospace system design and integration to include hydro-mechanical and electrical systems strongly preferred. Must have a good understanding of electromagnetics.

Designs components or a system of components to develop or improve existing products while reducing cost, enhancing performance, or facilitating manufacturing operations. Designs products or systems of diverse/difficult scope and complexity for assigned programs using a variety of engineering principles from mechanical, electrical, packaging, or other engineering disciplines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Develops conceptual and detailed designs by analyzing product or equipment specifications, performance requirements, and existing manufacturing capability. Performs diverse and complex design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of mechanical or electromechanical components, subsystems, and systems by applying engineering principles and developing new or unique analysis tools as required.

2. Determines feasibility of designing new equipment or modifying existing equipment considering technical and economic factors, available resources, time constraints, and company planning by completion of complex trade studies, applying advanced analytical methods, creating design solutions, and establishing engineering plans.

3. Provides technical information affecting long range plant and product engineering planning by researching manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations. Recommends and implements process control specifications and related documentation.

4. Conducts complex analyses and devises tests pertaining to the development of new designs, methods, materials or processes and completes required documentation by applying advanced engineering principles and company standards, and generating detailed reports, procedures, or change proposals. Prepares documents and presents results to internal and external customers. Determines required actions, performs or directs completion of tasks, and publishes findings and/or results.

5. Develops acceptance, engineering evaluation, development and qualification/certification test plans, procedures, and reports. Compiles and analyzes operation, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product.

6. Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replacability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements, cost-determining optimum solutions, and implementing recommendations.

7.Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings, assembly drawings, and schematics by coordinating with designers, drafters, or other engineers, interpreting customer and functional requirements, or by using engineering computer-aided design tools and following industry and/or military drawing standards. Develops critical data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, notes, and documentation necessary to present design proposals to customers.

8. Reviews drawings and layouts to ensure clarity, completeness, form, fit, functionality, and conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and directs revisions and improvements to engineers or other designers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (BS) in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering. Six or more years of related experience.

- Design and develop test methods and systems used to support SCE and Power Products.

General Engineering Duties:

Design Engineering Support:

Requirements:

- 5 years of C++, Lab Windows/CVI, Labview working experience.

Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Computer-Aided Drafting and Design software.

provide engineering assistance and support within the electrical aerospace
ground equipment section. Primary role will be for cable and harness design
engineering for electrical power, data and telemeter application.

Duties:
- Design electrical cable and harness for inter-rack connectivity between racks
and spacecraft
- Participate in research activity and engineering design, development and
implement support of EAGE -related systems and interconnectivity projects
- Provide sustaining engineering support for EAGE equipment, primarily
interconnecting cable
- Perform testing, test analysis and initiate engineering changes. Prepare

Skills and Experience:
