POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Application Engineer will provide engineering support and leadership to the customer for the Installation Quality Assurance (IQA) process. Clarify system and engine installation requirements. Conduct IQA review for installation approval. Resolve issues in a timely manner. Ensure the engine installations meet or exceed the customer’s requirements. Be the “voice of the customer” at the company for the customer. Evaluate sales engineering project specifications and application compliance. Maintain technical application database (drawings, procedures, bulletins, etc.) for future reference and assist in the development of applications skills within the company’s technical and sales teams. Establish effective relationship with appropriate company. technical application personnel. Maintain direct personal contact with major Distributor Original Equipment Manufacturers (DOEM) sales accounts to ensure appropriate, productive focus. Develop joint plains and deliverables between the company and the DOEM for new product development. This position is located in Henderson, CO (Denver).

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Compensation begins with an hourly wage of $70,000 and up depending on level of experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Holidays, Profit Sharing, Paid Vacations, Training, Tuition Reimbursement, and more.

REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must have a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with extensive knowledge of diesel engines. Ideal candidate is someone who has done R&D or Design Engineer work.

Job Description

Provide technical sales support by promoting the Chromalox brand, providing application and design assistance, quoting thermal solutions, entering orders, and managing projects. This position reports to the Director, Application Engineering-Systems.

  • Assists field sales engineers by providing expertise to offer optimal thermal solution for unique process applications.
  • Determines requirement for materials and related cost for system designs by working with engineering and purchasing departments.
  • Develops detailed proposals for standard and custom thermal solutions.
  • Serves as Project Engineer on special orders. Coordinate critical target dates from customer to engineering and production. Manage requirements for documentation of drawings, testing, approvals and all submittals.
  • Assists sales and marketing in developing short and long-range strategies for increasing sales, providing better customer service and promoting Chromalox brand awareness.
  • Assists sales in meeting profitable sales and growth objectives for department. -Assists customers and representatives in trouble-shooting problems with equipment or applications.
  • Provides start-up and installation assistance by phone or as needed at customer job site.
  • Assists sales by making joint sales calls with local office to promote products and secure key projects.
  • Provides training to sales organization for all products in the system group.
  • Supports sales and marketing by providing assistance with literature, training manuals and instruction sheets.
  • Assist in training on and start up of Heating equipment and Control Panels
 
Required Skills
  • Skills: Project management experience including writing engineering specifications, managing contract services and customer interface responsibilities.
  • Travel: Position may require travel to customer locations
 
Required Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or other appropriate technical degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience: 5 - 7 years of related experience

Job Description: Seeking an Electrical Engineer to design/develop new and improved products and components, to performs major re-design of existing products, to update specifications and significantly reduce cost. Products are to be marketable and meet established performance specifications and fulfill corporate profit goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conducts feasibility study for development project to ascertain capability of design of product and manufacture to meet performance requirements and specifications.
• Performs product design and drawing preparation for equipment systems and new or modified products, components and minor redesign of existing parts or products to meet specifications of customers, engineering, manufacturing or marketing.
• Selects components considering quality and performance in relationship with other parts and costs.
• Provides engineering support to manufacturing and materials departments in regard to production hardware, tools, processes, production control and material problems, drawings, etc. as requested.

• Prepares development model test procedures and specifies test limits for evaluating conformity with performance requirements.
• Reviews and approves drawings and bill of material.
• Prepares preliminary instructions for new products and works with Marketing in final preparation of instructions.
• Assists customers, representatives, and production as needed with application issues.
• Develops process improvements for team activities.
 
Required Skills:
B.S. Electrical Engineering desired; working knowledge of AutoCAD; project mangement including writing engineering specifications

Currently they are seeking a Sales Application Engineer to be based at their Franklin, WI facility, to work directly with customers in the Electrical Power Generation and Construction markets.

After completing the discovery phase, individual will collaborate with Design Engineers, performing engineering calculations (using company programs) to arrive at a cooling-system solution for customers applications. Individual will then generate cost estimates, quote the customer, and work with an Account Manager to follow up and close the sale. Additionally, will review purchase order requirements and manage production launch of products for assigned accounts, Will visit customers to facilitate the sales process and be present during product testing. Approximately 20% North American travel is required.
